I really love this idea and have been meaning to implement it for a long time now, so thanks for the reminder! I couldn’t imagine using all cloth for #2 as well, but for just #1 I think I could quite easily. And, since I’m the one who does the laundry, who is to complain?? :P

This reminds me about something I was reading about what people do to stay green. One guy takes old t-shirts and cuts them into little squares for toilet paper. Of course the t-shirts are just cotton. I wouldn’t want to cut up some of the shirts I own and use them as toilet paper. Ouch.

I totally dig this! Thanks for posting it. I don’t know why it never occurred to me use home made, reusable tp but I want to. Do you keep a little dry bucket next to the toilet to collect the cloth tp or a wet one or….? Love your site and totally dig your blog! :) Thanks for all of the great tips!

Sure - You could do a bucket or a wet bag for collection.

Having a baby in the house, my bathroom sink is always filled with poopy wipes needing rinsed, so adding a little pee’d on cloth isn’t a big deal and I’ve just been tossing it in there.

My washing machine is right outside the bathroom door too, so I just regularly transfer the baby wipes and my pee cloths into my energy efficient front loader to keep ahead of our cloth demand. *wink*

Yesterday I looked into the toilet and said Hey! Why is there a wipe in the toilet??

Apparently I have to still break my habit of wiping and releasing my toilet paper into the pot. Yep. I pee’d, wiped, and being on auto-pilot, tossed my reusable cloth toilet paper right in there.

So Mama went fishing….

That’s too funny! I figured I’d just do a little “trash can” next to the toilet and toss ‘em in there. I asked dh if he wanted to start using cloth tp and he said “I don’t care what you do for your pee but I won’t be using them for poo”. ;) Funny that we can rinse our bb’s dipes and wipes but can’t do it for ourselves. hee hee

So, other than Sadie, has anyone been inspired by this thread to try this?? I’ve been meaning to start and … well, ok have just been lazy! How’s it working out for the rest of y’all?
