How much standby power are you wasting every day?
If it weren’t for me and my chronic unplugging, Dreg would waste a lot. You’re welcome, my dearest Lovie.
The coffee pot, cell phone charger and not turning off the computer power strip are the worst areas of his money-draining phantom load.
Always remember, if it’s plugged in, it’s using energy.
Unplug it all to save on the electric bill, unplug it to reduce your impact on the climate-altering greenhouse effect, and for the love of goddess – unplug it for me so I can quit complaining about you not unplugging it!!

You can reduce your electricity consumption and the energy emissions you create with a simple green step of unplugging your appliances when you are not using them. Even if it’s not actively being used, the appliance still has energy flowing into it. As a green practice and to have better fire safety in your house, remember to unplug your toaster, hair dryer, coffee maker, radio, blender and juicer when you’re not using them.
When it’s time to replace appliances, look for the blue energy star which means the product is more green by being energy efficient. You can even look for energy star approvals when looking for a new home or making improvements. More information can be found at energystar.gov.
