Lemon Oil for Clogged Pores

Lemon oil is uplifting, astringent and excellent for us grease monkeys looking to do a little spring cleaning in our clogged up pores.  If you don’t have oily skin, you can still make an enjoyable room spray with lemon oil to help purify the air and keep you from getting sick.  Lemon smells clean, fresh and makes you feel happy, energetic and like all is well and right in the world.

Back to the blemishes – lemon oil is a great addition to your homemade sugar scrub, clay mask, lotion or you can add it directly to your skin as a facial peel unless you have sensitive skin, then don’t.  Add lemon oil (or fresh slices) to age spots and freckles to lighten them naturally and generally it will brighten dull skin.  Warning, warning – it can also make your skin more sensitive to the sun so maybe indulge now before the sunshine season arrives.

Oily folks, enjoy these D.I.Y. recipes:

  1. Awesome! Thanks for these recipes! I really need something for oily skin. The only thing I really do right now to cleanse my face is use any organic/all natural face soap that I can find. The one I use right now works great for getting rid of the red blotches I get on my cheeks and helping with break outs.

  2. This is a good idea — another use for lemons that I have not thought about. I will remember to do some more research on this one so that I can include it on my lemon-related blog.
